Thank you for being part of the 2024 Harken SA Sailing League, which has also been proudly supported by the City of Port Adelaide Enfield. We are set for an exciting weekend of sailing and cannot wait to have you all part of it.
Below is some important information for competitors. Please read it carefully and if you have any questions, please feel free to contact Harry Fisher on 0431102417.
Notices to Competitors
Official notices to competitors will be published on the notice board section of the SA Sailing League website (click here). Sailing Instructions have also been posted today, check the notice board for links.
We will also be communicating with competitors for more informal chat via the event WhatsApp group. Please ensure you are in this group and that you don’t miss important info.

Key Contacts
The primary event contact is Harry Fisher, who you can contact on 0431 102 417.
Greg Allison is the Sailing Operations Manager at the CYCSA and is the key contact when it comes to any issues with the boats. His number is 0417 778 232.
Event Area / Parking / Spectating
Please note the event area is the western section of the Inner Port, which is different to the event location in previous years. The boats are being stored in the New Port Marina, which can be accessed via Wirra Drive in Glanville. Use the following Google Maps link, which takes you to Lartelare Park, adjacent to the marina entrance.
There is sufficient parking next to Lartelare Park for competitors, while the best spectator spot is in front of Hart’s Mill on the opposite side of the river. Tell your friends and family to park at the Hart’s Mill carpark and watch from in front of the playground. Google Maps link here for that area.
Change Rooms / Toilets
As most of the people that have competed in this event previously would know, there are no change rooms at this event venue, due to the nature of the event not being run at a yacht club. We encourage you to wear clothing suitable for keelboat racing and come dressed ready to sail so you don’t require the use of change rooms.
The Portobello Restaurant is near the event venue and does have toilets, but please ensure you are respectful and support their business as well. The closest public toilets are over the other side of the river at Hart’s Mill.
Storage of Bags
We encourage you to store any bags inside vehicles parked at the event venue. However if you need event staff to hold onto valuables, please ask on the day and we can ensure a communal secure location.
Marshalling / Briefings
The briefings will take place exactly one hour prior to each race session, and will take place in front of the entrance gate to the marina. The briefings may be shifted to Lartelare Park in the event of hot weather.
Please ensure you and your team are on time for the briefing as marina access (both in and out) requires fob swipe access, so event staff will need to let you in and out. We plan to let all competitors and volunteers through the gates at the same time before and after each qualifying session.

Heat Policy
At this stage Sunday is looking like it will be quite hot. At this current stage, the forecast dictates some amendments to our hot weather policy. The rescue and support boats will be stocked with extra water bottles, and longer breaks will be taken between racing. Please ensure you highlight any safety concerns while racing to umpires or support boats, especially if first aid is required.
