The 2025/26 season will culminated with the SAILING Champions League: Asia Pacific – Finals  hosted by the Newcastle Cruising Yacht Club from 27-29 March 2026 as a part of the larger Sailfest event.  This event will be qualifier for Asia Pacific clubs to go onto compete in the 2026 SAILING Champions League World Finals (details to be announced):

For this 2025/26 event we are opening entries up on a first in basis with no separate State based qualification series.  Clubs will be limited to a maximum of two teams per club (i.e. one youth teams and one open team?) and we urge you to get in quick to secure you clubs entry.  

The SCL:AP – Final will again be the pathway for clubs from across Asia Pacific to then qualify for the SCL – World Finals (Open / Youth / Women’s) to be hosted in Europe (details yet to be announced).

The pathway to the 2026 SAILING Champions League: World Finals is as follows: 

The SAILING Champions League: Asia Pacific is in its 7th year and has partnered up with the Newcastle Cruising Yacht Club (NCYC) to be bigger than ever before. Entries for this years final will be on a “first in basis” to enable more clubs from around Australia as well as across Asia and the Pacific to compete.

Racing will kicked off on Friday 27th March with the Qualifying Series and continue until around midday on Sunday 29th March, when the top four teams from the Qualifying Series raced it out in a winner takes all Final Four Series.

From the results of this SAILING Champions League: Asia Pacific – FINAL the top teams will gain automatic qualification into the SAILING Champions League: World Finals (Open / Women’s / Youth) to fight it out with clubs from around the world to be the “Top Club”.

• 1000 – 1300  Free practice in Elliott’s for all teams
• 1400 – 1430  Briefing at NCYC
• 1500 – 1730  Qualifying Series: Session A – target 8 races
• 1800  Welcome function (NCYC)

DAY TWO – Saturday

• 0900 – 0930  Briefing at NCYC
• 1000 – 1230  Qualifying Series : Session B – target 8 races
• 1230 – 1330  Lunch break
• 1330 – 1730  Qualifying Series: Session C/D – target 12 races
• 1830  Hospitality at NCYC

DAY THREE – Sunday

• 0900 – 0930  Briefing at NCYC
• 1000 – 1230  Qualifying Series: Session E – target 8 races
• 1230 – 1330  Lunch Break
• 1400 – 1530  OPEN FINAL FOUR SERIES (latest warning signal 1600)
