OVERVIEW

The 2021/22 SAILING Champions League: Asia Pacific – FINAL was held over the weekend of 26/27th March at Newcastle Cruising Yacht Club as a part of 2022 Sailfest.  Fifteen of the top clubs from around Australia (and Vanuatu) raced over 2 days for the title of ‘SCL:AP Top Club’ in both the Open and U22 divisions. 

After lots (24 Qualifying Series races) in some extremely challenging conditions the cream rose to the top with the Open division results being:

    1. Mornington Yacht Club – James Jackson
    2. Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron – Jed Cruikshank
    3. Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron – Zac West
    4. Newcastle Cruising Yacht Club – Thomas Steenson

In the Under 22 (Youth) division the winners were:

    1. Mornington Yacht Club – James Jackson
    2. Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron – Zac West
    3. Newcastle Cruising Yacht Club – Thomas Steenson
    4. Royal Geelong Yacht Club – Mason Mahoney

These Top Clubs will then be eligable to go on to take on the best clubs from all over the world at the respective SAILING Champions League – World Final’s.
